Remodel Favorites
Last year, we finished a $200,000 + remodel of our 25 year-old home. This 6-Part blog will visit all of our favorite choices, and some we would do differently today. Categories will include lights, hardware, floors, kitchen, bathroom, windows and window treatments, furniture, pool, and more.

Items and products that we recommend will be posted by category.
Part 1. The Lights
“Fan Lights”
We live in an incredibly hot climate where temperatures can remain at 100+ degrees F for months at a time. Two items are a necessity for a happy home: a pool (which was part of the renovation, and stay tuned this ongoing blog) and ceiling fans. Pools are beautiful, but ceiling fans are so very ugly. I refused to buy them, until I found these beauties.
These “Light-Fans” are winners. The “Fan Lights”
Table and Foyer Chandeliers
The two table chandeliers were chosen to outfit formal and informal eating areas. The formal eating area is located near the foyer, therefore those chandeliers coordinate. We chose a “modern crystal” look for those areas.
Bathroom Lights
The bathrooms have gold and black accents of either marble, granite, or hardware. Luckily, there were plenty of options for gold and black.
The Living areas
In addition to the “Light-Fans” that exist in the bedrooms and living areas, these two square ceiling lights are a nice balance between the modern formal and informal feel of the open floor plan.
